Havenwood Success Story

Meet Laura!

NWA Gives 2021

April 8th

with your gift on this day,

we can continue to serve women like Laura!!

Since joining the Havenwood program, I have bought a car, gained some education, started a career, and regained custody of my oldest daughter.  These accomplishments are huge to my family, but I would have never been able to succeed in them without the skills I’ve learned in this program. I’ve learned compassionate parenting techniques, healthy coping skills, communication, and networking skills. Havenwood taught me how to ask for help, how to recognize my strengths and weaknesses, how to navigate society in a meaningful way. I graduated from the on-site Havenwood program last month and moved my family into our own home. I’m starting to intern as a Peer-Support Specialist, along with continuing my education in Information Technology. My daughters are 5 and 2. I’m confident in my ability to manage our lives now. thanks to the skills that I learned at Havenwood.

Havenwood helps single mothers and their children move from crisis to self-sufficiency.

The generosity of our volunteers and donors make it all possible.

You can help us provide a safe, stable, structured living environment while connecting single parent families in need with

programming, resources, and guidance to overcome obstacles in their lives and transform the future of their family.

The Havenwood program meets basic needs by providing a safe and secure place to live.

Our facility houses fifteen fully furnished apartments, complete with private kitchen and bath, for each single parent family.

In our 26 year history, Havenwood has been blessed to walk beside more than 500 families, including more than 1100 children.

There is a special kind of magic in helping homeless families transition from crisis into self-sufficiency.

There are over 2,400 people homeless in Northwest Arkansas, over half of which are youth according to the 2015 NWA Homeless Census provided by the University of Arkansas.  That's an increase of 48% from 2007 to 2015, and, unfortunately, the numbers continue to rise.

Formerly a program of the Community Development Center of Bentonville/Bella Vista, Inc.,

Havenwood , Inc. is now a 501(c)3 organization
